19 - PERFORMANCE MONITORING

Evaluation tools are included in the curriculum and utilized to help the Participant progress through the ISPP experience. At no time should any evaluation include Protected Health Information (“PHI”) of any patient.  The number of evaluation tools will vary based on each Participant’s prior experience/knowledge. Participants are evaluated in the following manner:

  1. Weekly meetings with the Preceptor to orally discuss progress and performance, confirm goals/activities for the next week, and sign off on the time sheet or excel file maintained by the Participant;
  2. Evaluations of Behavioral Performance conducted during the management and clinical modules;
  3. Evaluations provided in the curriculum for any major projects, assignments, activities, and/or in-service;
  4. Competency Exam administered after the three major Supervised Practice Experiences (Community, Clinical, and Foodservice Management) before a verification statement is issued.

The Participant is expected to participate in the evaluation process by completing:

  1. Evaluation of the ISPP experience (in emedley) at the completion of all supervised practice hours;
  2. Evaluation of the quality of supervision and feedback provided by the respective Supervised Practice Site, agency, or organization.

Evaluation is a time-consuming process yet one critical to Participants development and program quality. Participant is expected to participate fully in the evaluation process as part of his/her personal and professional responsibility. These evaluations can be found on the ISPP Learning Management System (D2L) and/or electronically via emedley.
